About
I’m Alonso Astroza. I lead corporate partnerships at the Data Science Institute at Universidad del Desarrollo, where I work on connecting research, industry, and applied AI projects.
I also founded IADevs, a community for AI engineers in Chile that organizes in-person events, and I teach OpenAI Codex to non-technical professionals who want to extend their work with agents without needing to become programmers.
Right now, most of my work sits at the intersection of LLMs, humor, local culture, and speech. That includes DataRisas, an explorable dataset of Chilean humor, Tricahue, a speech modeling effort for Chilean Spanish, and my role as a technical ambassador for Kotoba Technologies.
This site is where I collect notes, experiments, writing, and projects around those themes.
